I Knew It
Pessimism is a terrible thing not least for one reason - because it's so often accurate. In the form of his life, scoring for fun, creating beautifully-crafted goals, composing footballing poetry on the pitch as exquisite as Mozart writing operas in his mind.
He's going to get injured, I said.
Why, God, why?

You numpty. Bah. :P
Metatarsal Madness! (good title for a blog too)
Is it just coincidence that so many of England's top footballers are succumbing to the dreaded 'metatarsal' injury or is there something more sinister going here? Past victims have included David Beckham, Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
Now this season alone includes Ashley Cole, Michael Owen, Ledley King and of course Wayne Rooney (again!).
And it goes without saying that the phrase 'done me metatarsal' couldn't have happened to a more influential English player. Doah, bang goes any hope of us progressing beyond the first knockout match then!
In his Times column, Tony Cascarino reckons modern boots are to blame for the rise of the metatarsal injury in recent years - that they have given players a much greater degree of control but much less protection.

I read that too. I would agree with that, but you're still a numpty Chas!
Numpty me? I thought you were referring to Rooney! If I go in for a tackle at the end of a game 3-0 down, maybe then you can call me a numpty!
For saying he'd get injured (:P), but yes, he is also a numpty. He was the one who injured Terry early on with a nasty tackle.
I'm not sure I even said it as such, just knew it in the pit of somewhere...
